From Josh’s Obituary:
It is with heavy hearts we announce that Staff Sgt. Joshua Leandra Moore Jr., age 27, of Fallbrook, California passed away on Saturday June 24, 2023. While serving in the Marines, he received the National Defense Medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism medal, a Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal
Being a Marine was more than a career for Joshua. For him, it was a lifestyle. He enjoyed playing rugby, weight lifting, and was particularly proud of completing the 1,000-pound challenge. Whether stationed in the United States, or serving overseas, he was always ready to lend a helping hand, going above and beyond what was required of him. Anyone that knew Joshua, found him to be an absolute joy to be around, a fierce protector, and all were embraced by his kindness.
He is survived by his mother, Tara Burnett of Kentucky, brother Justis Moore of Kentucky, Aunts Stephanie Burnett of Massachusetts and Katrina Flynt of Georgia, Uncle Daniel Peloquin of Kentucky, several cousins, and girlfriend Jacinda Keye-Stage. Joshua was preceded in death by grandparents Jeanette, and Thomas Burnett of Massachusetts.
